Lithium-ion batteries are energy storage devices that are already widely used in mobile phones and laptops and will become even more important in future due to their use in electromobility and for the storage of regenerative energies. The storage of energy in lithium-ion batteries is trend-setting and exemplary for innovative technology.
In future, Deutsche Lithium GmbH will produce lithium compounds for use in lithium-ion batteries and can therefore rely on its own lithium deposit in Germany. It is holder of the mining license according to §8 BBergG (permit) for lithium-mica-greisen-deposit in Altenberg-Zinnwald/Saxony, one of the largest lithium deposits in Europe.
Deutsche Lithium is currently preparing a bankable feasibility study according Canadian Standard NI43-101 for the economic exploitation of this deposit. As part of the feasibility study
- exploration of the deposit,
- mine planning,
- the planning for the preparation of the lithium mica greisen and the
- planning of plants for the production of inorganic lithium compounds, such as lithium fluoride.
Deutsche Lithium GmbH is a joint venture of SolarWorld AG i. L. and Bacanora Minerals Ltd., 100% subsidiary of Bacanora Lithium Plc.
